About the artist:
Byron  is a landscape watercolorist with an extraordinary ability to envision the many natural moods of Alaska. His watercolors are distillations of reality, scenes reduced to their basics, while maintaining the integrity of the subject.

He is a world traveler who has spent years painting the world's continents. His mentors are the great Japanese block print makers Hokusai and Hiroshige. Their influence is particularly evident in Byron's washes- flawless gradations of color that ebb and flow.

Byron has won international acclaim, held over 50 one man shows with sell-out success, and enjoys both critic and public acceptance. "The artists I respect have one motto... DO" he stresses, "That's how the good works emerge. It's a weakness to wait for the Muse to speak. To be an artist you have to be doing, all the time."

As a continually evolving artist, Byron has recently developed an interest in Russian icons.
