About the artist: He is a world traveler who has spent years painting the world's continents. His mentors are the great Japanese block print makers Hokusai and Hiroshige. Their influence is particularly evident in Byron's washes- flawless gradations of color that ebb and flow. Byron has won international acclaim, held over 50 one man shows with sell-out success, and enjoys both critic and public acceptance. "The artists I respect have one motto... DO" he stresses, "That's how the good works emerge. It's a weakness to wait for the Muse to speak. To be an artist you have to be doing, all the time." As a continually evolving artist, Byron has recently developed an interest in Russian icons.
