Christmas Miniature Show Guidelines

Our 24th Christmas Miniature Show is scheduled for Friday, December 7, 2007.  We would like to invite artists to enter this mixed media show.  This is our biggest sale of the year and we expect a lot of participation.  Due to this, we have a few guidelines so that the event may go smoothly for everyone.

۰ Each artist may submit up to three (3) original paintings 8" x 10" or smaller.  This size does not include the frame.  Prints, hand pulled prints (even monotypes), photographs, reproductions and sculptures will not be accepted. Oil, acrylic, egg-tempera, pencil, pen & ink, watercolor, pastel, gouache etc. are all acceptable.

۰ With each painting please include title, dimensions, media and retail price.  An artist biography or statement about each piece is also recommended.  If you need help with any of these, our staff would be happy to assist you.

۰ Each piece must be ready for display on the wall.  Our frame shop would be happy to attach a wire, but will charge $10 per piece requiring hanging hardware.
It is in your best interest to use a frame that is presentable to the public.  One that is damaged or falling apart is less likely to sell, and may be refused by the gallery.  You do not need custom framing however, if you want us to frame your artwork, pieces must be brought in no later than November 11th so that we have adequate time.

۰ Thanksgiving weekend (Nov 23 - 25) is the deadline!  Please deliver or mail pieces to arrive by this date.  If they are being mailed, please contact the gallery and let us know what to expect.  Our last two mini shows have included 200 pieces.  Due to this massive amount of artwork, we need a lot of time to catalog, photograph and display everything.

۰  For those mailing pieces, be sure to include your name, mailing address and phone number as well as each piece's title and price.  We will fill out a consignment sheet based off this information and mail you your copy.

۰ The consignment rate for all shows is 60/40.  This means 40% of the sale price goes to the gallery.  Please keep this in mind when assigning prices to your pieces.

۰ The gallery will act as its own juror, and reserves the right to refuse any piece.

۰ Pieces not sold must be picked up, or shipping arrangements made, by December 29th.
