About the Artists:
Tom and Nelda spend their summers painting the Interior's landscapes while traveling in their RV.

Tom Nixon came to Alaska in 1984 for his eldest daughter's wedding.  Like so many of us, he found a new home here in Fairbanks.  He is a custom wood worker and builds dog sleds.  Jack Taylor and Gael Murakami introduced him to watercolor painting many years ago.  He now teaches art for the Summer Arts Festival, and is the current president of the Fairbanks Watercolor Society.

Nelda Nixon was born and raised here in Fairbanks.  She, like husband Tom, paints with the Fairbanks Watercolor Society.  Her greatest love is to paint outdoors and she hopes to retire in the near future, and devote more time to painting.
